Hey Cruzer,

Great question.

We have not tested the Braun 7071cc on shaving our heads, so cannot give a first hand opinion. Based on our experience with the different shavers, however, we can state the following:

– The additional foils on the Braun series 9 will give a faster and closer shave on the face and head
– We did test the philips 9000 on the head, and the philips 9000 has a lot more flex in the shaver head compared to the Braun Series 9000. And we did find that the shaver head moved “a bit too much” making it actually more difficult to press down on the rounded scalp at odd angles, which made shaving the head a bit more difficult as we had less control. We talk more about this in the comment below.

Personally, if money was no issue I would go for the Braun series 9, but we are sure that the Braun 7071cc will do an amazing job as well on the scalp.

Do let us know if you have any follow up questions.

Kind Regards,
Pierce

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the question.

If you have very coarse head hair, want to go completely bald and have a “larger budget” then feel free to consider one of the top end face shavers. See section “Can I use an Electric Face Shaver as a Head Shaver?”.

If you are happy to have incredibly short stubble, then it might be worth considering the Wahl balding clippers – they are pretty awesome.

Otherwise, if you don’t want to go for the Pitbull then the updated “Panasonic Hybrid Wet Dry Shaver”, option 4, is a great option as well.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask any follow up questions you might have.

Kind Regards,
Pierce

What head shaver do you recommend for coarse hair. It seems like all the ads show pictures of people without a lot of hair and they’re all super happy shaving their heads. I also looked at the Pitbull; however, all the negative reviews has me hesitating.
Thank you!!!
