thanks for the great presentation, but those are the watches the super wealthy can afford. How about give us a more realistic “best list” of the watch the average wage earner (50kCHF)can afford to buy? How about a list of “best” below 1000CHF which still are luxury? Luxury does not have to be over 3000CHF to be considered luxury! thanks again for teaching us a lot about horology.

Yes, the Rolex Submariner was not listed basically because of this fact i.e. it is so well-known that we felt it did not need to be presented anymore! We wanted to give our readers some cool and – let’s say – slightly more uncommon alternatives. And yes, you are right: it is perfectly wearable (and recognisable) in almost any circumstances.

What about the iconic Rolex Submariner? Cannot believe you did not include it. The sub c is not bulky, is clean and looks beautiful under a suit. The sub c can easily transition from a locker room to a board room and beyond.

We only had ten spaces for the article, so I had to make some choices between all the deserving timepieces and brands I knew – and I can assure you, it wasn’t easy at all, because I had to leave out some amazing watches.
