It’s a long time until Christmas, and if your birthday has just passed, you might be wondering when the next opportunity to treat yourself might be coming around. The time is now. Whether you’re buying something to indulge yourself with or treating someone special, the time is always now.
We’ve rounded up 22 of our favorite gourmet treats, catering to both sweet and savory tastes. We also took health into consideration. Let us know which ones you love and what else you’d like us to feature on Groom+Style.
Savory Snacks
1) Epic All-Natural Bison Meat Bar – Bison, Bacon, Cranberry: Check Price on Amazon
Like beef jerky, but even more American. Epic has taken the great American roaming beast and turned it into a bar.
We’ll take corn chips over potato chips any day of the week. These hot and spicy Jalapeno chips from Cornitos are made from non-GMO ground corn.
You might have shunned seaweed snacks when you breezed past them in the supermarket, but give them a chance and we’re sure you’ll love them. They’re actually really high in protein!
Blue Diamond is nothing new, right? Sure, but have you tried some of their more adventurous flavors? We love these spicy habanero BBQ almonds. They are fruity and complex.
Sweet Snacks
Fancy meets functional in these high-quality chocolate-covered mini pretzels. The finest Godiva chocolate is wrapped around crispy bite-sized pretzels. Some of the best dark chocolate we’ve ever tasted.
KIND bars have kind of been all over social media in recent months. They’ve scored some pretty big wins and for good reason — the KIND guys and girls donate a portion of their profits to various charities. It doesn’t hurt that their bars are absolutely delicious.
Plain and simple, but so far from dull, this awesome natural trail mix is packed with goji berries, golden berries, mulberries, raisins, brazil nuts, cashews, walnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
If you’re unfamiliar with how to eat these weird-looking wafers, let us enlighten you. In the middle is a delicious mixture of cream and caramel. You’re supposed to melt it by resting the wafer on top of your hot cup of coffee or tea!
Gourmet Breakfast Foods
A little more substantial than the regular KIND bars, and with a bit more protein, these peanut butter breakfast bars are as good as any homemade bar you might be thinking of making.
Who doesn’t love maple pecan flavored anything? Bear Naked Granola is simple, well-made, and totally delicious with milk or yogurt.
Soylent is not people! Soylent is a lot of fun, though. For those on the lookout for something a little different, Soylent meal replacement drinks are a nutritionally complete package, offering 20 percent of your daily nutrition per bottle.
One for the kids, these perfectly-sized bars are just right for the mid-afternoon or before practice.
Mid-Afternoon Treats
13) Mario Camacho Seasoned Green Olives: Check Price on Amazon
For something more savory, give these gourmet olives a try. Simply seasoned and incredibly high-quality.
The most no-nonsense bar in the world as far as we’re concerned, the RXBar lists its ingredients on the front! Madness!
Perfect with a beer or two, Hoosier Hill Farm’s Wasabi Peas are crunchy, spicy and impossibly moreish.
Sophisticated Beverages (Plus Coffee)
Lightly sparkling and naturally flavored with blackberry, grapefruit, clementine and apple, get these for your summer party and treat your guests.
Another favorite of ours, these bubbly fruit drinks are infused with antioxidants, which can help to flush out harmful free radicals from your body.
A super-sophisticated orange drink from the makers of everyone’s favorite sparkling water, Chinotto is a tangy, complex citrus drink made to be enjoyed out in the sunshine.
Cold brew coffee is really starting to catch on, and if you can’t find it near you, then give Bizzy a try and see what all the fuss is about.
Deli and Meats
Uncured pepperoni sticks made from turkey. Not your average Slim Jims, these are a real delicacy you’ll have a hard time keeping hold of for too long.
We could do an article on 1001 things to do with Anthony’s powders, but we’ll stick to this short intro and their awesome cheddar cheese powder — Fantastic on mac and cheese or popcorn.
Of all the olives we’ve ever tried, there’s something about the simple combo of basil and garlic on these ones from Oloves that we definitely love. Give them a try and see what you think.
Every office has its clown, and for us, that’s Lyndon. As a fun-loving guy who likes to take the pressure out of tense situations, we rely on him for comedic support to get us through our hardest days. You’ll find him working on a lot of our food-related posts, from drinks to recipe tips, right on down to kitchen fixtures and kitchen gadgets. If there’s one thing we can say about him, it’s that he makes a mean chicken milanese, and he can’t sing (don’t ask him to, we beg of you).
